PARTICIPATION OF THE ANOPAEA ORGANIC ESTATE AT THE EUROPEAN
The ANOPAEA ORGANIC ESTATE is pleased to inform that following the 2025-05-16 open call of the European LILAS4SOILS Program (https://www.lilas4soils.eu/), following our application for participation and after an evaluation and selection process, was selected to join the program.
The European LILAS4SOILS Program was created with the aim of promoting Carbon Agriculture within the Mediterranean region. It is led by the EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY (EIT) FOOD SOUTH (https://www.eitfood.eu/in-your-area/clc-south) based in Madrid, under the umbrella of HORIZON EUROPE. Six Mediterranean countries are participating (Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Greece, Israel). Five LIVING LABS have been created and the aim is to involve farmers, researchers and businesses to implement Carbon Farming practices in 85-100 demonstration sites within Mediterranean countries.
The GREEK CARBON FARMING LIVING LAB of the LILAS4SOILS program (The Greek Carbon Farming Living Lab -GRECFL2 by LILAS4SOILS- https://www.lilas4soils.eu/grecfl/home) focuses on helping farms in Greece adopt Carbon Farming practices. It is coordinated by Professor and Vice-Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr. Thomas Bartzanas. The American Agricultural School-Perrotis College, the National Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (ETHEAS), the Region of Central Greece and approximately twenty farmers or agricultural enterprises participate as collaborators of the Lab. Among the latter, ANOPAEA ORGANIC ESTATE was also selected.
This selection is a moral reward for our farming efforts as on our farm we are already committed to the implementation of Organic Agriculture since 2009 and to the implementation of Regenerative Agriculture and Carbon Agriculture practices since 2015, having made our first post on the subject on our social networks as early as 2017, when both terms were not yet widely used (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Y5bGvjysE/) and periodically since then.
